Kids’ Birthday RSVP Wording for Siblings and Parents
Avoid unclear kids’ party headcounts with invitation wording for siblings, parents, drop-off parties and RSVP deadlines, plus practical examples.
A kids’ birthday RSVP should make clear which child is invited, whether siblings can attend and whether a parent should stay. “How many are coming?” can create confusion when the venue charges per child or has limited places.
Already have the birthday card? Add a response page with CardToPage and keep the design you chose.
When siblings are not included
Use clear wording without blaming families:
We’ve booked activity places for the children named on the invitations. We’re unable to include siblings at this party. Please confirm whether [Child’s name] can join us by [Date].
If parents need another arrangement, give them a way to ask privately. A venue being open to the public does not automatically mean extra children have a place in your party booking.
When siblings are welcome
An open invitation still needs a useful count:
Siblings are welcome! Please tell us the names of the children joining you so we can plan food and activity places.
If there is an age restriction, say it alongside the invitation. Check the venue’s requirements before promising participation.
Say whether parents stay
For a parent-accompanied party:
Please stay with your child during the party. Let us know whether one or two adults will be joining so we can plan refreshments.
For a drop-off arrangement:
Drop-off is at [Time], and collection is at [Time]. Please contact [Host] before the party if your child needs any additional support.
Only offer drop-off when the supervision arrangements are appropriate for your event. The invitation wording should describe the actual plan.
Count people according to what you need to book
| Planning decision | Information to request |
|---|---|
| Paid activity places | Names and number of participating children |
| Refreshments for accompanying adults | Adults staying |
| Food preparation | Relevant dietary requirements |
| Party bags | Children included in the celebration |
If the form does not have separate adult and child fields, use a clearly worded custom question where supported and review the answers manually. Do not assume the number of RSVP submissions equals the number of people attending.
Put the deadline before your booking decision
Work back from the venue’s final-number deadline and leave time to follow up. Avoid treating silence as a confirmed “no” if the original invitation did not explain that.
A reminder can be short:
Hi! We’re confirming the activity booking for [Name]’s party. Could you let us know by [Date] whether [Child] will be joining? Here’s the invitation: [Link].
Use your existing card
Upload the card to CardToPage, add the party details and configure RSVP on the full website. Replies appear on the host dashboard and can be exported. Share the link privately with the families invited.
See adding venue directions if the party room or entrance is difficult to find.
Does a website prevent uninvited siblings attending? No. Clear wording helps, but you still need to review replies and clarify unexpected additions.
