Canva Invitation RSVP: Use a Link or QR Code?
Keep your Canva invitation and choose a working RSVP path. Learn when to share a link, use a QR code, and test guest replies before sending.
A Canva invitation can point guests to an RSVP page through a shared link or a QR code. Choose the route based on how guests receive the invitation: a link is convenient on a phone, while a QR code is useful on printed stationery.
Keep your Canva card and create an RSVP invitation with CardToPage.
First decide where replies will live
The design file and the response system are separate decisions. You can keep your artwork and use a form or invitation platform to record attendance. Avoid collecting responses in several systems unless you have a clear way to reconcile them.
CardToPage places your existing card on a guest website. RSVP is available on the full website, alongside venue directions. Guests open the page in a browser without creating a guest account.
Link or QR code?
| How guests receive the invitation | Practical response route |
|---|---|
| WhatsApp, SMS or email | A clickable invitation link in the message |
| Printed invitation | A QR code plus a readable website address |
| Image displayed on a phone | A link alongside the image |
| Printed card for someone who prefers calling | A contact number as an alternative |
A QR code displayed on the same phone a guest is using can add steps. Do not make scanning the only way to respond.
Create the CardToPage version
- Download a clear image of your finished invitation from Canva.
- Open CardToPage and upload the image.
- Enter the date, time and venue; check these against the artwork.
- Choose the full website when you need RSVP and configure the questions.
- Preview the page on a phone, publish on the website and share its link.

Test a reply before inviting everyone
Send the published link to someone helping you organise. Ask them to submit a test response. Check that it reaches the host dashboard and that the questions produce usable answers.
For a wedding, state who is invited. Wording such as “Please respond for the guests named on your invitation” reduces ambiguity, but wording alone does not enforce a guest limit. If you need name-based access or hard limits, confirm the platform supports those controls before committing.
What if the card is a PDF?
Convert it using CardToPage's PDF invitation to image tool, then check that the small text remains readable. A link embedded in a PDF and words printed on a JPG behave differently: text inside an image is not a working button.
Common questions
Do I have to redesign the Canva card? No. CardToPage uses your finished artwork.
Is RSVP part of Starter? No. Starter does not include RSVP; choose the full website for responses.
Does CardToPage import my Canva website? This workflow uploads a card image. It does not import a complete Canva website.
